About Us

The Lodge at Painted Rock is an exclusive, western-style, executive retreat and conference center located in the southern foothills of California’s scenic Sierra Nevada, a 2 ½ hour drive from Los Angeles.

The Lodge is located along the lower Kern River on a rugged, oak-clustered mountain 45 minutes from Bakersfield. The property is in the historic Keyesville gold mining area and consists of 70 acres surrounded by pristine Federal land, managed by the Bureau of Land Management.

With the Main Lodge and spacious grounds available for meetings and events, this venue is recognized as an ideal setting for offsite business planning retreats. It also provides a unique, picturesque location for weddings, other formal gatherings and receptions, tour groups, educational programs, and family reunions.

The timbered Main Lodge currently offers a fireside great room setting as well as meeting and banquet space for up to 150. The Lodge at Painted Rock has plans to add 50 lodging rooms along with a high tech conference center, and a host of other amenities.

This natural and rustic resort will offer first class comfort with full service amenities including attentive service, sumptuous cuisine, restful lodging, and expert conference and event support. Its spacious acreage and adjoining land provide breathtaking landscapes and wildlife viewing, river sports, horseback and walking trails, and campfire barbeque settings.

The surrounding Kern River Valley has a rich western heritage. The Lodge at Painted Rock, through artwork, design and appointments, reflects upon the legends of early settlers, ranchers, indigenous Native Americans, 1850’s gold mining and the production of over 400 western films. Additionally, ancient Indian pictographs and a gold mine are but a few of the onsite treasures to explore and enjoy.

No place brings these historical treasures together better than The Lodge at Painted Rock.

So as you plan your next offsite corporate meeting or special event, create your own memorable legends and join us in a world away from the city’s hustle-bustle, where the Old West still lives…
